Took it off the pallet with help from a couple of blokes up the road, onto the pavers, which were not as level as I'd thought so there was some packing underneath with offcuts. Filled it from the laundry tap with a hose out the window, took the better part of an hour, and it was cold by morning.

My partner wanted one for about a year and I kept saying it was that kind of money for a bath. What changed my mind was using it at his brother's place over a hot weekend in November. I use the warm setting more than the cold, which he finds hilarious. Still think it's a lot. No regrets though.

Carried it down the side of the house with a mate, sat it on the pavers, filled it with the hose and plugged it into the outdoor point. Cooling by lunchtime. The app was the annoying part, it kept dropping off my mesh wifi and took a few goes before it stuck. Fine ever since. Wouldn't do the lifting alone.

Ran a chest freezer out the back for a couple of years with a pond pump zip tied to the lid. It worked, sort of. Had to defrost it when the ice built up on the walls, the water went green if I didn't stay on top of it, and I never really trusted the wiring out there when it rained. Wife hated it. So we bit the bullet. This turned up, we wheeled it into position (get someone to help, it is genuinely heavy before there's a drop of water in it), filled it off the garden hose and that was about it. Sits cold and stays cold. No ice runs, no defrosting. What I didn't expect was how much more I actually use it now there's no faffing about first.

used to do the inflatable tub and chiller separately. Continuous leaks and problems, this thing is absolutely perfect.

Compared it against a drop in chiller with a stock trough, which is cheaper on paper, but once you've bought the trough and something to stand it on you're not saving what you think, and it looks like a farm. Everything else on my list was pre order and I wanted it for January, not April.

Engineer, so I put a plug in energy meter on it the day it arrived and left it there six weeks. Pull down from mains temp (about 24 in Melbourne in January) to 3 took a bit under four hours the first time, near enough to what they claim, and it drew 4.2 kWh doing it. Holding at 3 with the lid on averaged 3.1 kWh a day across January. Worst single day was 5.4 during that run of hot ones. February is tracking under 2.5. At 41 cents a unit that's a bit over a dollar a day in the worst month, less than I'd budgeted for. I had compared it against a drop in chiller in a trough, and yes, a smaller chiller would be cheaper to hold, but it's also a lot less water and I'd still have had to buy the tub. Stacked up fine for me.

It's in the carport up against the wall where the second fridge used to be. Concrete's level there, which is what mattered. Ran an extension lead off the laundry for the first week which the sparky told me off about, so there's a proper outdoor point there now. It's out of the sun most of the day and I reckon that's half the reason my bills haven't jumped the way people warned me. Neighbours think I'm mad. Fine by me.
