The Ultimate Recovery Bundle

The 2 Best. In One Bundle.

The Kiuas Dry Sauna and the Ice Drop Chiller together — the full hot-and-cold setup in one order.

Contrast is the reason to own both: heat, then cold, repeated. Neither needs a tradesperson. The sauna is up in ten minutes off a wall socket, and the chiller drops into the bath you already have.

Why Contrast Therapy?

Contrast therapy drastically accelerates muscle recovery and reduces pain by rapidly alternating between hot and cold environments. This temperature shifting triggers a physiological phenomenon known as the vascular pumping effect.

How Contrast Therapy Works

The heat-to-cold cycle, step by step

Start With Heat

Sit in the sauna for 15-20 minutes. Let your core temp climb and your muscles fully relax.

Cool Down Fast

Get into the cold plunge within 2-3 minutes of leaving the sauna. Aim for 2-4 minutes at 10-15°C.

Repeat The Cycle

Go back and forth between heat and cold 2-3 times. Always finish on cold for the full benefit.

Rest And Recover

Give your body 10 minutes to settle after your last cold exposure before you eat or train.

no more freezer nonsense

Had a chest freezer rigged up in the shed for about eighteen months. Sealed lid, temperature controller off eBay. It worked right up until it didn't, and cleaning it was horrible because there's no way to drain one of those without tipping it over. Gone to Marketplace for $150. This one drops into the bath and I've stopped thinking about it. Water stays clear and the temp is where I left it.

not the same as the gym one

Used the infrared box at my gym for about a year and always came out feeling like I'd been sitting in a warm car. This is a different animal. Proper dry heat, sweat starts before you've settled in. Wish I'd stopped paying that membership sooner.

Second attempt, much better

First go at this was one of those little chillers off an overseas site, the ones that reckon they'll handle a full tub. It pulled our water down about four degrees under whatever the room was and then sat there making a noise like it was in pain. Four hundred dollars and no refund, my own fault for not reading properly. The Ice Drop was a lot more money and I did sit on it for a few weeks before ordering. It holds 5 in a 1700 bath in a Bendigo November, which the other one wouldn't have got near. The first pull down took most of a day so don't plan your first session for the same afternoon. After that it's minutes.

Good, slow to warm up

We had a steam pod thing off one of those online sales, the sort where you sit with your head poking out the top. Never got past lukewarm. This is a different class, properly hot and dry as anything. The only thing I'd flag is the warm up. In our laundry it's a good twenty minutes before I'd bother getting in, closer to twenty five on a cold morning.

good, only wish it heated

Came off an inflatable tub and a lot of ice, so I'm happy enough. Runs quiet enough that it doesn't wake the house early. The one thing I'd change is that it only cools. Middle of winter up here I'd take a bit of warmth on the way back out, and it can't do that.

I was wrong

Wife bought it. I told her she'd bought a very expensive tent and that I'd never get in it. I'm in it more than she is now and she keeps reminding me. Should have kept my mouth shut.

Wasn't my idea, but I love it now

My husband ordered this without much of a conversation about it and I was pretty filthy at the time. What I was worried about was the bathroom turning into a gym. It's about the size of a milk crate and it sits under the towel rail when it isn't going, so it hasn't taken over anything. I've been using it more than he has since Christmas. Not admitting that to him.

Converted housemate

Housemate ordered it without asking and I was ropeable about losing the corner of the lounge. Few weeks on I'm the one texting to ask if she's using it tonight. It also comes down when we've got people over, which was my other worry.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can I run them both at the same time? +
Yes, but put them on separate circuits. The sauna draws 1500 W and the chiller 900 W, so together that's 2,400 W — around 10.4 A, which is at the limit of a single 10 A circuit before you've plugged in anything else. In practice most people don't run them simultaneously anyway. The chiller holds the bath cold in the background while the sauna heats up.
How do I actually use them together? +
The usual contrast structure is heat, then cold, repeated. Something like 15 minutes in the sauna, 1–2 minutes in the cold, three rounds, finishing on cold. Start more conservatively than that — 10 minutes of heat and 60 seconds of cold is plenty for the first few weeks. Every unit ships with our 30-Day Protocol, which sets out the temperatures and durations week by week, with the caveats intact. Be aware of the timing around training: cold immersion straight after lifting can blunt the muscle-building response. Our science page covers what the evidence does and doesn't support.
How much space do I need for both? +
The chiller needs almost nothing — a 29 × 32 × 33 cm unit beside whatever bath you're already using. The sauna erected is 170cm high with 30 cm clearance on every side, and packs down to 50cm cube when you're not using it. So realistically: a bathroom plus somewhere to stand the sauna for an hour. It doesn't need a dedicated room.
Can I buy them separately later instead? +
Yes, and if you're not sure you'll use both, do that. Buy the one you're certain about, and pick up the other later at full price. The $200 you'd lose is worth less than a $1,195 unit you never use. If you already know you want both, the bundle ships them together on one delivery.
When will it arrive? +
8–10 weeks, both units together on one delivery. Date range at checkout, and an email at each stage. Some builds can be expedited — email your date and postcode before ordering.
What's the warranty? +
12 months on each unit, assessed separately. If the chiller develops a fault, we fix the chiller — the working sauna isn't part of that claim, and one product's claim doesn't shorten the other's cover. We pay warranty freight both ways within Australia. Your Australian Consumer Law rights sit on top of all of it.
What if I don't like it? +
14 days with both units. If either isn't for you, send it back to Adelaide for a full refund on that item — no restocking fee. You cover the return freight and we'll book it at cost. Free cancellation within 72 hours of ordering, before either unit goes into production.
