About Enhanced Human

Enhanced Human is an Australian recovery equipment brand based in Adelaide, South Australia. We sell ice baths, cold plunge chillers and saunas, and we ship Australia-wide. We do not currently ship internationally.

We sell direct to customers. There is no distributor, no dealer margin and no showroom network in our pricing, which is why our equipment costs less than comparable products sold through retail channels in Australia.

Every health or performance claim on this website is linked to a named, peer-reviewed study and graded by how strong the evidence actually is, including where the evidence is weak. We say so when research does not support a common claim. Our research page is at /pages/science.

The 14-day trial applies to four products: the Ice Drop Chiller, the Kiuas Dry Sauna, the Sauna + Chiller Bundle and the All-In-One Ice Bath. Use it, and if it is not for you, email us within 14 days of delivery.

  • There is no restocking fee on any return.
  • You cover the return freight — approximately $200 for the chiller, the Kiuas and the bundle, and capped at $500 for the All-In-One with us covering anything above that. We will book the carrier at cost.
  • The unit must come back in good, resaleable condition with its original packaging.
  • Inflatable tubs must never have been inflated or filled.

The Stainless Steel Ice Bath, the Red Pine Ice Bath, the Hemlock Sauna and the Premium Recovery Bundle have no trial. They are built and crated individually after you order. Instead, you can cancel free within 72 hours of ordering for a full refund, no questions.

The three in-stock products can also be cancelled free at any time before dispatch.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect on arrival is a separate matter. That is a consumer guarantee claim, not change of mind — repair, replacement or refund at no cost to you, including return freight. Report freight damage within 7 days of delivery with photos.

Refunds are processed within 3 business days on our side. Banks and payment providers typically take another 2 to 5 business days to show it.

Warranty

12 months Ice Drop Chiller, Kiuas Dry Sauna, inflatable tubs, accessories
24 months All-In-One Ice Bath, Stainless Steel Ice Bath, Red Pine Ice Bath, Hemlock Sauna

We pay warranty freight both ways within Australia. Not covered: normal wear and tear, damage from power surges or incorrect supply, freeze damage, unauthorised modification, and commercial or hire use, which is quoted separate commercial terms.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply on top of our warranty and are not limited by it. Where our policy and the ACL differ, the ACL wins.

Frequently asked questions

How long does delivery take?

The Ice Drop Chiller, the Kiuas Dry Sauna and the Sauna + Chiller Bundle are in stock in Adelaide. They are dispatched within 2 business days and delivered anywhere in Australia within 2 weeks, free. The All-In-One Ice Bath is in stock and dispatches within 7 business days. The Stainless Steel, Red Pine, Hemlock and Premium Bundle are built to order on an 8 to 10 week lead time.

Do you deliver to regional and remote Australia?

Yes. On the three in-stock products, delivery is free anywhere in Australia. On everything else, metro delivery is free and regional or remote freight is quoted and confirmed with you before dispatch. It is never added silently.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

On the Ice Drop Chiller, the Kiuas Dry Sauna, the Sauna + Chiller Bundle and the All-In-One Ice Bath, yes — within 14 days of delivery, with no restocking fee. You cover the return freight, capped as set out above. On the Stainless Steel, Red Pine and Hemlock there is no trial because each one is built for you after you order; instead you can cancel free within 72 hours of ordering.

Does the Ice Drop Chiller work with my bathtub?

It works with any tub up to 320 litres — acrylic, steel, fibreglass, or an inflatable tub. The probe drops into the water. Nothing is plumbed in, nothing is fixed to the tub, and nothing sits permanently beside it.

How cold does it actually get?

The Ice Drop Chiller takes water down to 3°C and holds it there. The All-In-One, Stainless Steel and Red Pine reach 0°C. The first cool-down on the chiller takes 6 to 8 hours from room temperature, at roughly 2.2°C per hour. After that it holds, so it is ready whenever you are. Nothing in this category is instant, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you something.

How much does it cost to run?

The Ice Drop Chiller is approximately $1.50 per cool-down, or approximately 60c per day if you hold it cold continuously. The Kiuas Dry Sauna is approximately 30c per session. The Hemlock Sauna is approximately $1.20 per session. Keeping the lid on between sessions is the single biggest thing you can do to reduce running cost.

Do I need an electrician?

Only for the Hemlock Sauna. Its 6 kW stone stove needs a dedicated circuit installed by a licensed electrician — budget $400 to $600 on top of the purchase price. Everything else in our range runs off a standard Australian wall socket. The Ice Drop Chiller and the Kiuas Dry Sauna need no electrical work at all.

How noisy is the chiller?

Approximately 30 dB once it is holding temperature. For reference, a dishwasher is around 50 dB.

Does the Ice Drop Chiller have a filter to replace?

No. There is no filter housing and no filter to buy. Change the water every 1 to 2 weeks in a bathtub setup instead.

How do I look after the water?

Change the water regularly, keep the lid on between sessions, and rinse off before you get in. Never use household bleach — it attacks tub materials and chiller components. The full routine, including sanitiser options and change intervals by tub, is at /pages/water-care.

Is the Kiuas an infrared sauna?

No. It is a traditional dry-heat sauna, using radiant and convection heat from a 1500 W element, reaching 85°C. It is not infrared and it is not steam. Almost every other portable sauna sold in Australia is one of the other two. The distinction matters because most of the long-term sauna research was done on traditional dry heat.

How long does the Kiuas take to heat up?

Approximately 25 minutes from cold. The 1500 W element is doing real work, so it is not instant. Setup from the bag takes about 10 minutes and one person.

My timber tub is weeping. Is it leaking?

Almost certainly not. When a timber tub is filled for the first time, the staves are dry from storage and transport. As they take on water they swell, the joins close, and the tub seals itself. Fill it and leave it filled — draining it is the one thing that stops it sealing. If it is still weeping after the swelling period, send us a photo of where the water is coming from. Full detail at /pages/caring-for-wood.

Can I use these commercially, in a gym or studio?

Yes, and we quote separate commercial terms for it, including volume pricing and extended cover. Domestic warranty does not cover commercial or hire use. See /pages/commercial or email us.

Who should not use cold immersion or a sauna?

Speak to your doctor first if you have a heart condition, uncontrolled high blood pressure, are pregnant, have an active infection or fever, or take medication affecting blood pressure or heart rate. Never use cold immersion alone. Exit immediately if you feel dizzy, nauseous, lightheaded or unwell. Nothing on our website replaces medical advice. Full guidance at /pages/health-safety.

Do ice baths help recovery?

The evidence is more mixed than the marketing suggests, and we say so. Cold water immersion produces a large, well-documented acute rise in noradrenaline. It also appears to blunt some strength and hypertrophy adaptations when used immediately after resistance training. A 2025 meta-analysis found a transient reduction in stress around 12 hours after immersion but no improvement in mood. Every claim we make is linked to its study and graded by evidence strength at /pages/science.

Do ice baths burn fat?

No. Cold exposure recruits brown fat and raises heat production, but no study we cite shows weight or fat loss as an outcome. We will not claim otherwise.

Does sauna use prevent heart disease or dementia?

No — and we are careful about this. The large Finnish cohort studies show strong associations between frequent sauna use and lower rates of sudden cardiac death and dementia, but they are observational studies of self-selected men. They show a link. They do not prove the sauna caused it, and we do not present them as if they do.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major payment options are accepted. No BNPL yet, but it is coming soon
